“Last Train Home,” which I co-wrote with David Mead, is Song Of The Day on NPR. Listen here:
The song will also be featured on the ABC show Private Practice on January 29th.

Now that we’ve mixed the new album it’s time for the mysterious process of sequencing, or
putting the songs in the magic order. It’s kind of an old-fashioned notion, sequencing. My guess is that nowadays, most people
listen to random playlists rather than whole albums from start to finish. Even I do that a lot. But I still enjoy taking
the journey laid out by a well-sequenced album, whether it’s Frank Sinatra Sings For Only The Lonely or Paul
McCartney & Wings’ Band On The Run or Feist’s Let It Die.
Finding the right sequence is like solving a puzzle. Lots of elements to consider from one song to the next - tempo, key, mood, fadeouts, lyrical content, etc. It usually takes a lot of experimenting and listening until the whole thing plays back just right. So that’s what Molly and I are doing for the next week and a half.
Oh, we’ve got to come up with a good album title too!

We’re happy to announce that we’ve finished mixing the new album! No title yet, but the songs are -
Caprice
New Wave
Down On Love
Once I Lived In London
Half Breed Stan
Love Don’t Leave Me Now
Lunar Loon
A Note From The Management
Precious Bryant
Pencil Thin Mustache
Honolulu Lulu
Topsy Turvy Love
Under The Palms
The record is scheduled for spring 2009 release in Japan, Thailand and Korea, and of course, it will be available
shortly after at i-Tunes and all your favorite digital stores.

Hope everybody is enjoying their holidays! I’m just back from NJ, where I spent a happy week with my parents, my brother and his wife, and my girlfriend. We ate some fabulous meals, played Scrabble, and reminisced a lot. Now that I’m back in Nashville, it’s time to select the songs for the new Swan Dive album. It’s not easy, because we have twenty possible candidates, out of which we’ll probably go with twelve, maybe thirteen. Molly and I will be listening a lot this week, and deciding which ones fit together the best. On Sunday, we’ll join with our producer Brad Jones to begin mixing . . . more as it develops!

Now available at NoiseTrade for a pay-what-you-want download - David Mead’s Almost And Always. Produced
by Brad Jones, this moody and magnificent album includes nine songs co-written with Bill DeMain of Swan Dive.
