release (Cheap Lullaby) on September 1st.

One of my ultimate songwriting fantasies is to write a James Bond theme. “Caprice,” co-written with my secret agent friend David Mead, feels like it could’ve been worthy of a Roger Moore-era entry. Maybe sandwiched between Rita Coolidge and a-ha. . .
This was another song we recorded live at RCA Studio B, to a 24-track analog machine. Another stellar vocal from Molly, and a creamy string arrangement by Chris Carmichael. Enjoy . . .

Since we don’t currently have a US release date for Mayfair, I thought I’d post a few tracks on the site.
First up is “Precious Bryant.” This was recorded live at RCA Studio B, the famous room where Elvis recorded in the late ’50s and early ’60s. Roy Orbison, Jim Reeves, the Everly Brothers, and many more worked there. They still have the original echo chamber built into the ceiling, which gave Molly’s voice an extra rich and lustrous sound.

Mayfair release
Our new album Mayfair is released today in Japan. The first single, “Half Breed Stan,” is the “recommended song
of the month”
